Privacy

Public research and private plant workspaces have different visibility and access boundaries.

Effective 25 August 2026

What the Exchange handles

Public pages contain reviewed case records, public sources, and verified plant-profile fields accepted for publication. Private workspaces can contain account identity, consent versions, organization and plant membership, access requests, structured cases, evidence files, review decisions, invitations, and audit events.

Account and access data

Sign-in uses the ChatGPT identity of the user. Sign-in alone creates no plant workspace or upload permission. Access follows either an exact-email invitation the user accepts or an organization request the Exchange activates; assigned permissions then determine who can view, contribute, review, or administer plant data. Anonymous visitors cannot upload files.

How information is used

Information is used to operate the service, review organization access, secure accounts, enforce permissions, maintain audit history, review proposed publications, support reliability, and respond to requests. A private upload is not public merely because it is stored in the Exchange.

Retention and deletion

Retention depends on the record type, plant governance needs, publication history, active legal or integrity holds, and service obligations. Requests to correct or delete account information are evaluated against security, audit, contractual, and legal requirements.
